Footasylum
Description
Footasylum is a omnichannel retailer of fashion streetwear and sports apparel in the United Kingdom. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Rochdale, UK, the company operates through a network of 63 stores, seven websites (including group and own brand sites), and integrated warehouse facilities.Footasylum generates revenue by selling a mix of footwear, apparel, and accessories through its physical stores, websites, and wholesale channels. The company stocks several renowned third-party brands, including Nike, adidas, The North Face, and New Balance, which are supplemented by a rapidly growing portfolio of owned brands such as Zavetti Canada and Monterrain. In August 2022, European asset management group AURELIUS acquired Footasylum from JD Sports Fashion Plc for £37.5 million. The sale was a result of the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) blocking JD Sports' acquisition of Footasylum in 2019 due to concerns over reduced competition in the sports fashion market.
